(KNOX) – Thursday an officer from the Grand Forks Police Department was patrolling the downtown area near 1100 4th Ave North when he observed an individual walking whom he recognized.

The individual, identified as Jeremy Suedel, 42, of Grand Forks, had two active Grand Forks District warrants for his arrest.

Upon noticing the officer, Suedel fled north from this location. Multiple patrol units responded and established a perimeter, resulting in a significant police presence in the area.

Officers on scene received credible information indicating that Suedel had entered an acquaintances residence in the 1100 block of 5th Ave North.

Contact was made with the homeowner, who consented to a search of the residence. Officers located Suedel in the basement, where he was taken into custody without incident.

He was taken to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center, where he was held on his outstanding warrants.

The Grand Forks Police Department would like to thank the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this incident.
