Grand Forks Police Respond to Semi Roll Over

(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to South Columbia Road and Demers Avenue for a semi-truck that had rolled onto its side while exiting South Columbia Road.

The semi-truck involved was a 2012 Kenworth owned by Residual Materials Inc. The Semi-Truck was being operated by Scott Winkler, 65, of Manvel.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the semi-truck was exiting South Columbia Road to turn east onto Demers Avenue. While rounding the exit, the semi-trailer tipped onto its side, spilling its contents of material onto the berm. Based on eyewitness accounts, neither speed nor driver behavior appear to have been factors in the incident. No injuries occurred as a result of this incident. No citations have been issued.

The Grand Forks Police Department would like to thank the public for their patience as traffic has been diverted in the area for approximately 90 minutes while officers investigate the incident and cleanup crews continue to work the scene.
