Grand Forks Man Sentenced to 8 Years For Attempted Murder

(KNOX) – A Grand Forks man was sentenced to eight years for attempted murder.

According to court records Alexander Thompson, 28, choked a coworker with his hands then with an extension cord.

The legal documents said that while chocking the man, Thompson said, “I’m going to kill you.” Several individuals had to get involved before Thompson freed the coworker.

While in prison Thompson must complete an anger management evaluation and follow through with any recommendations.

Upon his release he will be on supervised probation for two years.
