(KNOX) – The highway patrol said that a train vs. vehicle crash took place near Eldridge.
A 27-year-old Jamestown man driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was southbound on 74th Avenue South East approximately two miles west of Eldridge. A train was westbound.
The driver of the Chevrolet failed to yield and attempted to cross the railroad tracks. The train struck the rear of the Chevrolet, spinning it off the tracks.
The 27-year-old Jamestown man was medically treated on scene and arrested for driving under the influence.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
