(KNOX) – A Polk County man has pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct for engaging in a sexual act with a woman while she was impaired by alcohol.
Susano Isaiah Padilla, 22, of Crookston, pleaded guilty to one of the many felony charges he has been charged with.
The crime is for intentionally and unlawfully engaging in sexual conduct while knowing the other person is mentally impaired, mentally incapacitated or physically helpless.
The felony charge has a maximum sentence of 15 years, though state sentencing guidelines recommend from 41 up to 216 months, depending on Padillia’s criminal history.
Padilla’s remaining charges are two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Court records say Padilla changed his plea in light of a plea agreement, however, one has not been publicly filed.
Sentencing is slated for 9 a.m. August 5th.
