(KNOX) -A mural in Grand Forks is causing controversy.

The mural is at the state School for the Blind and has a rainbow that some may see as political.

It violates a city ordinance. It most likely would not have been approved had it been presented to the Grand Forks Planning and Zoning Commission.

The ordinance states that murals cannot be politically motivated and cannot face residential neighborhoods.

The mural at the School for the Blind faces Sixth Avenue and homes.

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets on July 9th.
