Accident Closes Grand Forks Street

(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Police Department was dispatched to the 1300 block of South Washington Street for a three vehicle crash.

Preliminary investigation indicates a black Nissan Rogue driven by Grekei Kollie, 39, was traveling north on South Washington Street entering the intersection of 13th Ave South. A white 2012 Ford Explorer traveling south on South Washington Street, entered the turn lane to turn east at this intersection. The white Ford Explorer was driven by Samuel Gregoire, 24.

A collision occurred in the intersection between these two vehicles. As a result of this, the Ford Explorer spun and collided with another vehicle which was in the turn lane to turn south onto South Washington Street from 13th Avenue South. That vehicle was a 2018 Chevy Cruz driven by Ivie Turner, 29.

Gregoire was issued a citation for failure to yield based on the preliminary investigation by officers on scene of the crash. All vehicles involved had to be towed from the scene. Two involved parties had minor claimed injuries at the scene of the crash but denied being transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The Grand Forks Police Department would like to thank the public for their patience as traffic was diverted in this area for approximately 60 minutes while officers investigated the crash scene.
