(KNOX) – Early Monday morning officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to a person shot at 5th Avenue North.
Initial investigation of the incident revealed that a handgun was discharged inside of an apartment.
One victim, with non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.
Several witnesses, who were in the apartment at the time, were interviewed on scene.
Investigation of the incident is ongoing. However, at this time, it is believed this incident was a result of an accidental discharge.
The firearm was seized and there is no known threat to the public.
