(KNOX) -Former state Senator Ray Holmberg of Grand Forks has been transferred to the federal medical center prison in Rochester, Minnesota.
The 81-year-old is serving a 10-year prison term for traveling to Prague in the Czech Republic to have sex with underage boys 14 times between 2011 and 2021.
Holmberg pleaded guilty and was sentenced in u-s district court in Fargo in late march.
Holmberg was in the Sherburne county jail near the twin cities prior to and after he was sentenced.
The prison in Rochester is for men who require specialized long-term medical or mental health care.
Inmates of all security classifications are housed there. It can hold 786 prisoners.
