(KNOX) -Taylor Hodny and Alexia Giannopoulos each had a goal and an assist Tuesday, powering Red River to an undefeated regular season and possession of the Cushman Cup in a 2-1 win over Central.

The match was the Eastern Dakota Conference regular season finale.  The Riders finish 12-0-2, with a draw and a win over Central to claim possession of the girls soccer travelling trophy between the inner-city rivals.

Giannopoulos scored first, with an assist by Hodny in the 14th minute.

It would take until the 70th minute for the score to change, with Central’s Jacie Reardon received a long pass and used the left foot to tie the game.

A draw would have allowed Central to retain the cup, and Red River responded with immediate pressure.  Giannopoulos would return the favor in the 76th minute, finding Hodny for the eventual game winner.

Both teams will advance to the state tournament next week.  Red River will be the top seed from the EDC.  Central finishes their season 7-4-3, and will be the fourth seed from the east to the state tournament.
