(KNOX) – Red River and Central soccer continued their momentum to the state tournament with wins Thursday, with the Riders clinching the conference championship.
Grand Forks Red River topped Fargo Davies for the second time this season with an identical score to their first win, 3-2. The win clinched the Eastern Dakota Conference regular season championship.
Davies had won the last three EDC titles, and stopped Minot’s 70-game win streak in the state finals a year ago.
Grand Forks Central picked up it’s seventh conference win this season with a 2-0 shutout of Fargo North.
The win further cements Central in the four-seed from the EDC to the state tournament. They drew with Red River 0-0 earlier this year, and the Knights will meet the Roughriders again on Tuesday to finish the regular season.
