(KNOX) – After giving themselves a shot at a two-seed on Tuesday, a tough finish put the Riders on the road for the first round of the Eastern Dakota Conference baseball tournament.
Red River will play at West Fargo Tuesday in the opening round of tournament, with the mission of wining two before losing two, which would deliver a berth in a home-field state tournament.
The Riders win over Fargo South Tuesday put them in a position to challenge for the second seed in the tournament, but losses of 11-1 and 10-0 to West Fargo Horace dropped Red River to 14-8 in the final conference standings
West Fargo finished 15-7, gaining the fourth seed, with the top four teams hosting games Tuesday.
Fargo Davies claimed the league title, with Horace gaining the second seed. South finished third. Central did not qualify, as the EDC takes the top eight finishers in regular season play. Central finished outside of that mark.
Gametime for Red River is set for 5:00 PM Tuesday.
