(KNOX) – The Downtown Development Association (DDA) alongside Northridge Construction, and Franklin on 4th, are working together to beautify downtown and promote the exceptional people, places, and things that make up our thriving region through the creation of murals. This project will result in public artwork that lasts for years and create a landmark for
those who live here and visitors alike.

This mural is funded through the Iseminger Endowment for the Arts Grant Program through the Community Foundation of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, & Region along with DDA contributions.

“Murals are a powerful demonstration of how public art can shape a community and provide economic impact.” said Jill Proctor, CEO of the Downtown Development Association. “They transform spaces into destinations and bring vibrancy and beauty to the places we live, work, and visit.”

Characteristics of this mural should include:

● Bold colors, interactive features like prompts or 3D elements, and visually striking focal
points that naturally frame people for photos.
● A design(s) that complements the surrounding historic area and has local relevance
● Materials that are durable and resistant to vandalism and are appropriate for the space

All mural details including the selection process, timelines, budget, and general instructions can be found on the DDA’s website at downtownforks.com/murals at the bottom of the webpage.

The deadline for submission of concept proposals is 5 p.m. on June 16, 2025. Submissions can be sent via postal mail, email, or dropped off to the contact information listed below.
