North Dakota Lost a Federal Partner in Community Service

(By: North Dakota Monitor Staff) – Four North Dakota organizations awarded AmeriCorps funding by the North Dakota Department of Commerce were impacted by the federal funding cuts.

Three ongoing programs lost all of their grant money:

  • Souris Basin Planning Council, a Minot economic development organization, lost roughly $264,000
  • Cooperstown Community Activities lost about $102,000
  • South East Education Cooperative Professional Corps., a Fargo education association, lost about $25,000

A Dickinson-based mentorship program for youth at risk of dropping out of high school run by Sanford lost a $41,908 grant.
