Valley City Public Schools Release Statement on Police Investigation

(KNOX) – The Valley City Public School District released a statement on the police investigation of a man facing charges of possession of prohibited materials.

Valley City Public School Superintendent Josh Johnson said that they want to address a recent release from the Valley City Police Department regarding an ongoing investigation involving the possession of illegal digital materials by an individual in our community.

The Valley City Public School District told families and staff that there is no indication that any students from Valley City schools have been identified as victims in the investigation.

The Valley City Public School District is actively coordinating with its school resource officer, the Valley City Police Department, the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and Barnes County State’s Attorney as the investigation continues.

The Valley City Public School District’s primary concern remains is the safety and well-being of the students.

If any student is identified as a victim, Valley City schools are fully prepared to provide appropriate supports and counseling services.
