(KNOX) – According to court documents the lawyer of the man accused of allegedly driving drunk and killing a six year-old girl in a crash near the Grand Forks International Airport is requesting that the trial be moved out of Grand Forks.
The attorney said that the victim’s family is behind a public campaign that could prevent a fair trial.
Travis Bell’s attorney wants the trial moved to Bismarck or Williston, saying that the pretrial publicity in the case has gone far beyond typical media coverage.
Bell has had his breathalyzer thrown out of court.
Katarina Louthain was killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 2 last year.
