(KNOX) – The City of Grand Forks Engineering Department said that a project north of Gateway Drive and west of Interstate 29 will be done in three different phases.
The work will consist of constructing sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, storm water pond, pump station, force main, and paving, streetlights to serve properties in the Korynta-Lemm 6th Resubdivision development.
“This work is going to take a couple of years to buildout. So we’re delaying the acquisition of the paving until 2026 once the utilities can be put in the ground,” said Assistant Grand Forks City Engineer Ed Liberman.
The primary benefitting area consists of approximately 386 acres of land north of U.S. Highway 2, bounded by Interstate 29 on the east and N. 55th Street on the west. These public improvements were initiated at the request of the property developer, Simonson Station Stores.
The Developer is proposing this public infrastructure be designed and constructed through special assessment, to be accepted by the City of Grand Forks for operation and maintenance.
