Grand Forks Teen Sentenced to 40 Years

(KNOX) -According to legal records a Grand Forks teen will spend 40 years in prison after being sentenced for murder.

Cazmere Haskins was sentenced for the stabbing death of 24-year-old Anfernee Economy.

It happened last March, during a fight outside of an apartment complex in Grand Forks.

According to the Grand Forks Police Department, nearly a dozen people, were in a physical fight after an argument.

Police said that several people involved caught the stabbing on video.

Court documents said that Haskins sent photos of a knife with blood on it.

Haskins was 17-years-old at that time, but was charged in Grand Forks County as an adult.

Late last year Haskins pleaded guilty to felony murder, he admitted to stabbing Economy one time in the chest, but said it was in self-defense.
