(KNOX) – The City of Grand Forks is keeping an eye on some bills when the state legislature reconvenes later this week.

John Bernstrom of the City of Grand Forks said that there is legislation in the state house and Senate that they are watching.

“We’re also taking a look at the Department of Public Instruction, their bill which is House Bill 1013. Another long bill, lots of items in it, but one item we’re paying attention to, that has a line item in it for the Children’s Museum for $5,000,000,” Bernstrom said.

The City of Grand Forks is also focused on state Senate legislation that deals with transportation.

“2254 is the fixed route funding for public transportation. That one started with a $15,000,000 grant, got amended down to a $5,000,000 grant and is now down to a $2,000,000 grant,” said Bernstrom.

The North Dakota State Legislature will be back in Bismarck Wednesday March, 5.
