(
(KNOX) – Coming this summer will be work on what some feel is a very bad street in Grand Forks.

Grand Forks City Civil Engineer Matt Maguire says that the construction will be done on 24th Avenue South from South 29th Street to South 34th Street.

“Engineering has identified that a pretty poor ride. A lot of defects in that stretch,” says Maguire.

Reconstruction will be done on that part of the street.

“Including a section of reconstruction, a section of panel replacement, and concrete grinding,” Maguire says.

According to the Grand Forks Engineering Department, pavement deficiencies have been identified for this roadway. They include longitudinal cracking, corner spalling, joint separation, and faulting concrete panels.

The resulting impact of these deficiencies is an extremely poor ride.
