Work on Two Grand Forks City Streets Will Return

By Bill Dubensky Feb 6, 2025 | 7:46 AM

(KNOX) – Grand Forks City Engineer Al Grasser says that city streets are inspected from time to time.

“Periodically we go through, about every three or four years, go through and have the pavements evaluated on condition: How are they performing? How do they ride? Things like that,” Grasser says.

The City of Grand Forks Engineering Department provides for the construction, maintenance and repair of city streets to ensure safe and efficient transportation.

Grasser says that work will be back this year on two city streets that saw work being done last year.

“We’re still working on the Columbia Road Overpass. We’re still working on Washington Street, continuing work on the Highway 1 development area,” Grasser says

2024 proved to be an excellent year for construction, more than $19.3 million in street construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation projects executed in the City of Grand Forks
