(KNOX) – East Grand Forks City Council moved Tuesday to approve and submit a BUILD Grant application toward the “East Grand Forks/Grand Forks bridge crossing project.”
City Administrator Reed Huttenen says they should hear back on the application in June.
Speaking on “The Ryan Cunningham Show” Wednesday, Grand Forks City Council President Dana Sande says the East Grand Forks Council is wasting its time- simply because the costs are unattainable.
“When the State of North Dakota isn’t going to chip in even a quarter of that money, where is the City of Grand Forks going to come up with $62.5 million? It’s nonsensical,” Sande told KNOX. “The folks in East Grand Forks should either get on board with a south end bridge or we’re just going to continue to spin our wheels.”
Sande says the City of Grand Forks should be building the Merrifield Bridge or the 62nd Avenue Bridge.
