(KNOX) -Colonel Tim Monroe says nine B-1 bombers from Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota are stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base… along with 600 personnel.
By early March, there will be a total of 17 B-1 bombers and 800 personnel… plus a few million pounds of equipment, Colonel Monroe says. That will include a bomber task force from the Pacific.
The Colonel says public affairs is open to giving tours of the B-1; just don’t expect the tour to be inside a hangar.

Grand Forks County Commission has placed a 180-day moratorium on wind turbine farms and solar panel farms.
The action supports Senate Bill 2398, introduced by Senator Jeff Barta, which would establish a state commission to keep encroachments from within 25 miles of military installations, including Grand Forks Air Force Base, the 119th in Fargo, and Minot Air Force Base.
Motions for the moratoriums passed a unanimous vote of Commissioners.
