(KNOX) – Grand Forks Public Health (GFPH) reminds the community that it is not too late to get vaccinated as cases of respiratory illness continue to rise.

Getting vaccinated against influenza (flu), COVID-19, or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) can still help protect against severe respiratory illness and can be given at the same time. Talk to your healthcare provider about which vaccines are recommended for you.

“Staying healthy starts with prevention,” shared Ashley Krone, disease prevention team leader at GFPH, “Choosing to vaccinate is one of the best ways to prevent severe illness, for yourself, your family, your neighbors and community. Staying up to date on recommended vaccines helps ensure fewer missed school days, less time away from work, and more moments spent together feeling well.”

Visit immunizegf.org to view a comprehensive respiratory illness activity report for Grand Forks County, along with vaccine resources and locations. Vaccines are available by appointment at Grand Forks Public Health. Please call 701-787-8100 to schedule.
