Grand Forks Park District discusses parking lots, parks, naming rights

(KNOX) – Grand Forks Park District is moving ahead with parking lots and maintenance.

The low bid for improvements to the entire parking lot system came from Asphalt Preservation Company.
Opp Construction had the low bid for a new parking lot at Bill Palmiscno Park, new parking lot at Crary Park and the Lincoln Golf Course cart path.
Total bids came under estimates. The board moved to approve all bids ($1,459,605.44) and allow staff to approve contingencies up to $100,000.

Grand Forks Park District plans to renovate Elks Playground on 13th Avenue South in 2026 and moved to apply for a Garrison Diversion Conservancy Grant estimated at $150,000.

The Park District is working with the Blue Line Club on naming rights for the dual rink Ice Complex. The Blue Line Club is contributing bleachers, rink boards and sound baffles valued at $1.085 million.

The Park Board and City of Grand Forks are negotiating who is responsible for what when it comes to the Altru Sports Complex. The final design is due in late March with groundbreaking as early as June.
