(KNOX) – Grand Forks City Council approved a project for the engineering department.
Grand Forks Senior Civil Engineer Rachel Bremer says that they would install more than 300 feet of storm sewer piping along the route.
“The UND pond outfall on North 25th Street going from Second Avenue North to University Avenue,” Bremer says.
In the fall of 2024, a new storm water pond was privately installed on UND property to handle increased runoff due to the redevelopment of the area.
During this same time, the initial 75 feet of 24-inch storm sewer pipe that will serve as an outfall for the pond was installed across Second Avenue North and into the berm along North 25th Street as part of a city project.
The current project will continue installing the outfall pipe along North 25th Street to University Avenue where it will connect into the existing storm sewer at an existing catch basin.
This connection is intended to be temporary until the reconstruction of University Avenue where the outfall installation will be proposed to continue.
