(KNOX) – Grand Forks Water Treatment Department Director Melanie Parvey says work being done at the Grand Forks Waste Water Treatment Plant takes development into account.
“To make sure that we had enough growth for residential and industrial, the project was also carefully created so that we could have that expansion opportunity as well to another 7.5 million gallons a day,” Parvey said.
The first phase of work is almost done. Darrin Pfingsten of PKG Contracting of Fargo says that the design and physical work on the project was one.
“The Phase One of the project basically was approved. The project cost a little over $11.4 million. Also includes the engineering side of it, so the construction and engineering as well,” Pfingsten said.
Phase Two of the project started nearly two years ago.
“We began some construction in the fall of 2023 already,” Parvey says.
The second part of the construction has a price tag of $85,898,291. That second part of the project at the Grand Forks Waste Water Treatment Plant also included engineering and the physical construction.
