(KNOX) – Grand Forks City Council heard some good news from Mayor Brandon Bochenski.
“We did have our last sales tax collections come in. So, 2024 was closed out, definitely a really good month,” Bochenski said.
The mayor says that they budget for 3% growth each year, but last year exceeded expectations.
“We actually saw 9% growth in 2024. That’s phenomenal,” Bochenski said.
Bochenski says business and the economics in the City of Grand Forks are strong.
“Look at a nine-percent number versus a three, it makes a lot of things go better into the future. I think the biggest positive is those are taxable sales in the community. That means business is humming and the economy is doing well,” Bochenski said.
