(KNOX) – Cirrus Aircraft is looking to expand its operations in Grand Forks.
Steve Thomas of Cirrus Aircraft says the production means more jobs will be on the way.

“Approximately 30-to-45 new manufacturing jobs here in Grand Forks,” Thomas says.

The addition of jobs at Cirrus’ Grand Forks facility is because of production of a new aircraft.

“It allows us to bring the SR-10, which will be a new a brand-new airplane, it will be a training airplane. All production of parts will happen here in Grand Forks,” Thomas says.

Cirrus is planning to expand at its operations in the Grand Forks Industrial Park at 255 North 48th Street.

“To increase our production rates bringing new programs to market, it allows us to layout the factory a little bit more efficiently,” Thomas says.

Cirrus wants to invest $14.5 million into their Grand Forks facility.
