Grand Forks City Council Will Look at a Greenway Project

(KNOX) – Grand Forks City Council will look at professional services for the first phase of a downtown Greenway project.

Grand Forks Water Works Director Melanie Parvey says the area is on the south end of Demers Avenue, near the river.

“There isn’t any intent to adjust within the flood protection, within the levy or that open area,” says Parvey says.

The proposed downtown project consists of developing a user-friendly outdoor space for a multi-generational audience.

“The intent would be to work within the existing infrastructure, really providing some access,” Parvey says. “This area actually goes from Demers Avenue almost down to Minnesota Avenue. So, there are some other areas within the Greenway, but not to the north of there,” says Parvey.
