(KNOX) – A storm sewer project will be done in Grand Forks during the next construction term.
Grand Forks City Senior Civil Engineer Rachel Bremer says the work will be done in the area of the University of North Dakota campus.
“From Second Avenue North to University Avenue. To serve as an outfall for the new storm water pond that was installed next to the Pollard. Last year the new storm water was privately installed on UND property to handle the increased development in that area,” Bremer says.
Construction on the work is scheduled to take place in the upcoming construction season.
“It is also serving to drain all the water from Second Avenue itself that is going into that pond. This project will continue installing the pipe along North 25th Street where we will temporally connect to the storm sewer,” says Bremer.
Bremer says that the connection is short term the reconstruction of University Avenue is finished sometime in 2027.
During this same time, the initial 75 feet of 24-inch storm sewer pipe that will serve as an outfall for the pond was installed across 2nd Avenue North and into the berm along North 25th Street as part of a City of Grand Forks Project.
