(KNOX) – Tonight brings a pivotal mid-season matchup in Eastern Dakota Conference hockey for Grand Forks Red River.
The Roughriders host Fargo North at Eagles Arena, and the standings illustrate the importance of the game. Red River is currently in fourth place, with a conference record of 4-3-1-0.
Red River’s 14 league points are a single point ahead of Fargo North, whose record in the league is 4-4-0-1. The difference in the standings involved an 8-7 overtime win by the Roughriders over the Spartans in Fargo earlier this season. Red River led that game 6-2, only to trail 7-6 late, scoring to force overtime, then winning in sudden death.
