(KNOX) – The first meeting of the Grand Forks School Board in 2025 saw the panel accept Notice of Intent to negotiate from the Grand Forks Directors Association, Grand Forks Education Association, and the Grand Forks Principals Association.
A petition from all three to negotiate is expected in February.
Board members also moved on an 8-1 vote to enter a cooperative purchasing agreement with the state’s largest school district.
The pact could be applied to purchases larger than $50,000. The district is not obligated to use the agreement.
Grand Forks School Board members have been invited to attend the School District Demographic Public Input meetings Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Grand Forks Central High School and Thursday at 7 p.m. at Red River High School.
Those public input meetings are not considered meetings of the school board.
They are an opportunity for Rob Schwarz, CEO / Principal Planner of RSP & Associates, and school district administration to update attendees on an ongoing demographic study within the Grand Forks school district boundaries…and capacities at elementary, middle and high school levels.
