(KNOX) – Grand Forks City Council approved a contract with Dakota Parking to take over the permitting and enforcement for parking in downtown ramps, surface lots and on street parking.
The agreement goes into effect today.
Dakota Parking will handle all permitting and parking enforcement in the downtown area.
All ticketing and ticket appeals will be handled by Dakota Parking.
“Historically, downtown parking enforcement has been handled by the Grand Forks Police Department.” Interim Police Chief Dwight Love said. “This agreement will free up officers to handle public safety matters in the entire city as opposed to focusing on parking tickets downtown.
