(KNOX) – North Dakota State Senator Jeff Barta of Grand Forks says that there are a lot things lawmakers will take up when the North Dakota Legislature convenes next week.
“I think until we all get together, and get together in our caucuses, and start talking about all the bills, because it behooves us to get everybody at the table, and come up with all these ideas and say what is the best approach here,” Barta told KNOX Radio news.
Property tax reform is one thing that will be on their agenda.
“We’ve heard that there are over 50 bills. I think once we get there and everyone sees what’s coming forward, how we’re going to collate everything, because there are going to be a ton of ideas,” Barta says.
Money for schools is also a hot topic for the upcoming session.
“Probably the biggest thing is see how we fund education. My gut is that we are going to look at how we can fund K through 12,” Barta says.
