Park River man appeals Facebook case to another court

(KNOX) – A new case has been filed in U.S. District court by a Park River man accusing a state lawmaker of evidence tampering and obstruction.
Mitchell Sanderson accused Edinburg Republican Yah-nuh Meer-doll in state court last year for allegedly violating his first amendment rights by blocking Sanderson on her Facebook page.
A district judge dismissed Sanderson’s lawsuit… saying it was Myrdal’s private Facebook page…and that she was acting as a private citizen, not a lawmaker. The North Dakota Supreme Court agreed.
In his new lawsuit, Sanderson says Myrdal changed the page after the original lawsuit was filed. Sanderson says it was called “Myrdal US Senate” and included her government email address and posts about Walsh County and state issues.
Sanderson wants the court to punish Myrdal and to compensate him for bringing the case to both district and state court.
