Grand Forks City Offices Closed New Year’s Day

(KNOX) – Most city offices will be closed Wednesday, January 1, 2025 in observance of New Year’s Day.  Regular City business will not be conducted.  However, emergency police, fire and communications services will continue to operate as scheduled.

City services such as garbage collection will not take place on Wednesday, January 1st.  Regular Wednesday pickup for the “A” route will take place on Thursday, January 2nd, and Wednesday’s “B” route pickup will be on Friday, January 3rd, along with regularly scheduled routes.

Recycling will not be picked up on Wednesday.  Recycling will be pushed back one day for the rest of the week.  Wednesday’s recycling will be picked up on Thursday.  Thursday’s recycling will be picked up on Friday and Friday’s recycling will be picked up on Saturday.

The Cities Area Transit (CAT), including City Bus, Night Bus, Senior Rider Bus and Dial-A-Ride will not operate on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.  CAT will resume its regular schedule on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

City offices will re-open for business on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
