(KNOX) -At approximately 7:36 Wednesday evening, Grand Forks Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of 17th Ave. S. and S. Columbia Rd. for a two-vehicle accident with injuries.
Initial investigation of the crash determined that a 2011 Honda Pilot, driven by 19 year old Boeden Allen of Grand Forks, was traveling westbound on 17th Ave. S. A 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 20 year old Kendall Bergquist of Grand Forks, was traveling eastbound on 17th Ave. S.
As both vehicles neared the intersection with S. Columbia Rd., Bergquist attempted to turn northbound in front of Allen’s vehicle, causing the crash.
Both vehicles were significantly damaged and towed from the scene.
Bergquist was transported to Altru as a precaution.
Bergquist was charged with DUI and was also cited for failure to yield at a controlled intersection.
