(KNOX) – The Grand Forks City Committee of the Whole approved a task order amendment for a project that was just completed.

“For Station 48 and forcemain. We went over on the initial timeline. The project was supposed to be done at the end of June 2023. It didn’t finish until October 24, 2024,” Grand Forks Utility Engineer Carmen Neuschwander told the committee.

The work included in this project was to construct a lift station and associated forcemain for the sanitary sewer for the development of Grand Valley.

The development is located south of 62nd Avenue, west of Washington Street, east of Columbia Road and north of Merrifield Road.

“So the additional dollars will be paid for out of wastewater funds,” said Neuschwander.

The original task order was $167,150. The amended task order is $188,386.

Additional engineering inspection was needed due to the project not being able to be finished on time.
