(KNOX) – The University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks are looking for a new head football coach.
Bubba Schweigert is stepping down after 11 seasons to take an administrative role within the athletic department as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Engagement and Mentorship.
Athletic Director Bill Chaves says Schweigert will use his skills for the betterment of UND, alumni, coaches, staff and student athletes.
The Zeeland, North Dakota native exits fourth in program history with 66 victories and five postseason appearances. The Fighting Hawks won the Big Sky Conference in 2016… and the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2020.
Former UND linebacker Eric Schmidt is the new defensive coordinator at San Diego State.
