(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Red River High School Roughriders came through with defensive stops when they needed to, then put the football in the hands and on the legs of Thomas Kraft to top Wahpeton 35-22 in the Class AA semifinals.

Kraft ran for 253 yards and scored all five Red River touchdowns. Red River advances to the Dakota Bowl in the FargoDome for a rematch with Horace and the Class AA championship.

At The Betty, Red River graduate Jocelyn Schiller scored a dozen points and came through with a tie-breaking assist during her collegiate debut for the University of North Dakota in a 66-63 victory over Eastern Illinois.
The UND Fighting Hawks won 7-3 at what could be called “their home away from home” over Minnesota-Duluth. Friday’s victory was UND’s sixth consecutive win at AmsOil Arena. Game two in set for 6:07 p.m. tonight.
UND returns to Ralph Engelstad Arena next weekend to host the Denver Pioneers.
