(KNOX) -The Grand Forks Planning and Zoning Commission this week received an update on the Grand Valley Pedestrian Study.

Blue Weber of Bolton and Menk says that they handed out questionnaires recently that asked parents what kind of crossings would they like to see.

“We talked to some parents about what they would like to see for this area.

Some of the questions that we asked were what are some of the types of crossings that you would feel comfortable with your children crossing, and what are some of the features of pedestrian crossing do you want to see,” Weber told the committee.

Blue says that an area where the study focuses on is Washington Street from 57th Avenue to south of 62nd Avenue.

“Everything from Columbia up to Washington, but also some of Belmont. We really wanted to include that Cherry and 62nd area, so we can talk about that corridor as well,” Weber said.

Blue says that the area of the study is growing in Grand Forks.

“We know that the Grand Valley Development itself is already up off the ground, moving really well. There is the King’s Walk neighborhood, but when we’re talking about these greenfield areas, it does provide a good opportunity,” Weber said.
