(KNOX) – A Grand Forks man faces a murder charge in the death of another man in the victim’s Grand Forks apartment last Thursday night.
45-year-old Donald Bartlette is accused in the beating death of 49-year-old Anthony Keel.
An affidavit of probable cause says Keel suffered multiple injuries to his head and face. Bartlette reportedly told another man living in the apartment that Keel came at him with a knife and he had to beat him up. Bartlette told investigators that he was defending himself and that Keel attacked him. Police recovered a knife in a search of Keel’s apartment and two wooden legs of a coffee table showed the presence of blood.
A charge of conspiracy to commit murder has been forwarded to the County State’s Attorney against 35-year-old Nicholas Wride-Arnold.
