Grand Forks Police Identify Victim who Died

(KNOX) – On Thursday October, 24, at approximately 9:06 pm officers of the Grand Forks Police Department responded to the area of the 100 block of Cherry Street for a 911 call reporting an unresponsive male in a residence.

Responding officers located a 49-year-old male suffering from injuries. Life saving measures were attempted and the victim was transported to Altru Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the Grand Forks Police Department the victim has been identified as 49-year-old Grand Forks resident Anthony James  Kiehl. Kiehl suffered injuries that led investigators to believe that homicidal violence was involved.

The investigation is still in the early stages and information is being actively followed up on.

At this time, the incident does not appear to be a random act, and they don’t believe there is any danger to the general public

A person of interest has been identified, it is believed this person, and the victim were known to each other.
