New Liquor Store to Open Next Year in Grand Forks

(KNOX) -A liquor store on South Washington Street is closer to reality after the Grand Forks Committee of the Whole approved a liquor license.

Grand Forks City Clerk Sherie Lundmark said that the store has plans to open next spring.

“The proposed location is in the Grove Strip Mall. They have been work there. We’re bringing this to you a little bit early, because they need to secure a lease,” Lundmark told the committee.

The owners have passed the required police background checks for the applicants of a liquor license.

M & K Ventures, LLC, has submitted an application for a Class 2 Alcoholic Beverage License and has paid the application fee. Issuance fee of $42,560 and annual fee of $3,895 apply to this class of license.

“The business will be looking at opening in the spring of 2025, but the landlord wants the guarantee that they can have the liquor license,” Lundmark said.

The annual fee will be pro-rated for the actual months of operation. All fees must be paid prior to license issuance.

M & K Ventures, LLC would open the store at 4088 South Washington Street under the name of “701 Liquor.”
