(KNOX) -The City of Grand Forks is receiving a $3,490,000 grant from the National Parks Service for the redevelopment of Greenway recreational features in the downtown area.

“Winning this highly competitive grant is a huge victory for our hard-working City staff.” Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski said. “Enhancing the Greenway continues to improve the quality of life in Grand Forks and is a great addition to both attract and retain families and workforce.”

Grand Forks is one of 54 projects in the United States that was awarded grants by the National Parks Service and one of 2 in the State of the North Dakota. A total of $254,000,000 in grants were awarded nationwide.
