(AP) – An investigation is active to determine the cause of an explosion and fire that severely injured one person and caused extensive damage to a home and nearby property early Thursday morning in Jamestown.
The house and garage were fully involved when firefighters arrived.
A 55-year-old resident suffered severe burns and was transported by ambulance to the Jamestown Regional Medical center and later flown to a Minneapolis hospital. One pet died in the fire. There were “multiple” reports of an explosion shortly after 1:30 a.m. Fire crews were on scene for about four hours.
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and state Fire Marshal’s Office are involved in the investigation.
