(KNOX) -The Grand Forks Committee of the Whole this week received a federal funding summary from Assistant City Engineer Dave Kuharenko.
“There’s a variety of programs out there. Different types of projects, different locations that these programs are used for, as well as a variety of different cost-shares that are associated with them,” Kuharenko told the committee.
Each program has its own requirements and criteria for the type of projects that they can be used for.
“For projects that are coming forward, for applications that are going to be associated with the regional roads program, which are primarily North Dakota Department of Transportation led,” Kuharenko said.
Annual program submittals will be coming to future Committee of the Whole and Grand Forks City Council meetings for review and approval to submit as well as the information that is being provided as background for when those items come for discussion.
Once approved by Grand Forks City Council, applications go to the Grand Forks-East Grand Forks Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for review and then submission to the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
The MPO review is a check for completeness and they do not change the application documents.
