East Grand Forks City Council remembers ‘Punky’ Beauchamp

(KNOX) – East Grand Forks City Council Chambers will be known as Lynn Stauss Council Chambers, following a 6-1 vote Tuesday by council members.
Tuesday night was also a night to approve permits.
The Greenwave Sports Booster will hold a 5K walk, roll and run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. September 29.
The Red River Snowmobile Club will conduct Bingo at the VFW on November 14.
The Ruffed Grouse Society will hold a raffle at the Eagles Club on December 14.
A permit was approved for Sacred Heart to hold a raffle January 13, 2025 at Sacred Heart School.
The City approved the lease with RDO Equipment for a motor grader.
The City awarded Stormwater Lift Station Maintenance to ICS for about $30,960.

East Grand Forks is remembering Robert “Punky” Beauchamp, who died last Thursday at the age of 71.

Mayor Steve Gander announced visitation for Punky is from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight with a vigil service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be Thursday, again at Sacred Heart.
