(KNOX) -During a meeting at Grand Forks City Hall Monday afternoon on the U.S. Postal Service, Cecile Wehrman of the North Dakota Newspaper Association expressed the problems that members of her organization are experiencing.
“We’re not going to get newspapers delivered the next day, but we are having newspapers delivered seven-to-nine days later,” Wehrman said. “It’s frustrating to have someone tell you that the documented responses that you are getting from your members are incorrect based on their data.”
Mark Inglett, Strategic Communications Specialist with the U.S. Postal Service, said that they must address the complaints they heard at the meeting.
“Just an opportunity to build that communication, get that bridge, that gap of communication for everybody together. We got to hear some concerns. We’re obviously going to make every effort to make sure that those concerns are taken care of,” Inglett said.
The event was organized by North Dakota U.S. Senator John Hoeven.
“It’s about making sure we have people in the postal service both here as well at the district level, and even at the D.C. level, that will work with us when we have a challenge that needs to be addressed,” said Hoeven.
